Although cricket is not the official national sport in India, it begets much more excitement and a greater fan following than the official national sport Hockey. Why only hockey? In fact no other sport in India can claim the position of cricket in respect to its popularity and revenue generation.
Today cricket in India play the role of an adhesive in this land of contrasts and contradiction. At least the Indians from Srinagar to Kochi from Mumbai to Kolkata have some thing in common! No wonder an ace Indian cricketer is worshipped like a deity. Whether he is from Uttaranchal or Andhra Pradesh from Maharashtra or Arunachal Pradesh , hardly makes any difference. The movie stars from Bollywood, the biggest film industry in Asia, do not even enjoy the similar status.
People are ready to work out their social events, leaves from office and travel plans tallying with the Indian cricket team's schedule,Facebook updates with latest scores,no one will be online to chat :P ,Streets, offices, schools and hospitals run empty that day...u can consider all these as flip side of cricket fever !! Having said that the question is "Who is going to win this year" ???
Well... Australia rules are gone,England hopes forever, Pakistan jumps allover,West Indies firing in air, New Zealand are following none,Sri lanka is enjoying home run,South Africa may get In, Is India going to win ??? :) !! I know answer to this question is little spectical rite now specially when it is "Cricket"...so let be a surprise :) and we can enjoy each & every match without any expactation !!!
